FIRST SOCKS
Wool socks for newborns
Wool socks are one of those small but very important things that should definitely be included in a hospital bag. These socks will be put on the baby immediately after birth.
Little feet are often the first to get cold. That is why sometimes simple, natural wool socks are the small piece of clothing that helps the baby feel warm, calm and comfortable.
Wool is not only warm. It is a natural material with the ability to help regulate temperature: in cold weather, it helps retain body warmth, while in warmer weather it helps wick away excess moisture. This is especially important for newborns, who lose heat much more easily than adults.
The slight prickliness of wool also has a purpose. A small, natural tingling from the wool fibres on the soles of the feet can stimulate the skin's touch receptors and help the baby feel their feet better.
Also ideal for premature babies.
